“Consistent Tiny Brandies”

I am still quivering with delight after learning that Frostine99 has just launched a blog: Prunes and Prism. (Frostine99, you may recall, knows cat blogs — and so, so much else.) The name of her site comes from Little Dorrit, the Dickens novel in which young ladies seeking husbands are instructed in “very good words for the lips.”

Of her own endeavor, Frostine99 writes:

I’ve never read Little Dorrit, and when I saw “prunes and prism” in context, it just rang like a bell that this should be the name — because this blog, like those young ladies’ exercises, is a hopeful and probably misguided attempt at self-improvement, and also because we all so earnestly believe that we can reshape ourselves through words.

The lucky reader will certainly relish accounts of the author’s attempt to write a novel in one month, her dreams of donuts, and her beverage of choice: “brandy out of a tiny, tiny teacup.” Enjoy!
